Museum of Folk Construction in Sanok

The Museum in Sanok is a magnificent treasury of knowledge about the culture of Boykos, Lemkos, Dolinians and Pogórzans. The open-air museum, which is also an ethnographic park, has become one of the largest in Europe. It is located in a very picturesque area. At the foothills of the Sanocko-Turcznyńskie Mountains. It covers an area of 38 hectares, on which more than 130 wooden buildings from the seventeenth to twentieth centuries were built. We shall find here, among others, the former rural buildings, the 17th century church, the 18th- century Orthodox churches, chapels and rural schools. In the museum we can see over 100 buildings of wooden construction with fully decorated interiors. Visitors have an opportunity to get acquainted not only with the complete weaving workshop, but also with pottery, wickerwork and wheelhouse workshops.
